Bristol University Think Big Scholarships
Bristol University is investing about £500,000 to help the brightest and best international students come to the University of Bristol. Think Big Undergraduate scholarships and Think Big Postgraduate scholarships are available for courses offered at the University. The tuition fee awards range from £6,500 to £26,000.
The Scholarship
awards are valued at £6,500 and £13,000 per year for undergraduates and £6,500,
£13,000 and £26,000 per year for postgraduates and can only be used towards the
cost of tuition fees.
Applicants of this
scholarship may also be eligible to receive a £3,000 living cost bursary during
their first year of study. Prospective international students can apply for
funding towards the cost of tuition fees and living costs.
Eligibility for Undergraduate
To
be eligible for the University's undergraduate scholarships, you must:
- have
applied to any undergraduate course at the University of Bristol,
with the exception of medicine, dentistry and veterinary science;
- start
your undergraduate course in September 2023;
- be
classed as an overseas student for fee-paying purposes;
- not already be in receipt of other funding which would equate to more than the full cost of tuition fees alongside a Bristol scholarship.
Eligibility
for Postgraduate
To be eligible for the University's
postgraduate scholarships, you must:
- have
applied to any one-year, full-time master's programme, or one of our eligible two-year programmes -
Social Work (MSc) and Law (MA);
- start
your master's programme in September 2023;
- be
classed as an overseas student for fee-paying purposes;
- not
already be in receipt of other funding which would equate to more than the
full cost of tuition fees alongside a Bristol scholarship.

Scholarships Awards
Scholarships
will be given as a tuition fee discount and are non-transferable.
No cash alternative will be offered.
If the amount of scholarship awarded is more
than the cost of the tuition fees, the tuition fees will be covered in full and
any remainder will not be issued.
Unless otherwise stated, undergraduate scholarships will be awarded for all years of undergraduate study taking place at the University of Bristol (not including years studied away from Bristol, such as years in the industry), subject to satisfactory attainment throughout the programme.
Bursaries
Bursaries will be awarded in the form of a
contribution towards living costs. Payments will be made at the beginning of
the academic year, once the recipient has registered in full and set up a UK
bank account.
This bursary will be available only in the first year of study for all undergraduate and postgraduate awardees on two-year courses.
The University of Bristol reserves the right to update or amend scholarship awards without notice, based on the availability and quality of applications that are received.

The application
deadline for the Bristol University International scholarship is as follows:
- Undergraduate
application deadline: 27 February 2023
- Postgraduate
application deadline: 24 April 2023.
Assessment Process
Successful
applicants in the Bristol University Think Big Undergraduate scholarships and
Postgraduate scholarships will be contacted as follows:
- Undergraduates –
successful applicants will be contacted on or before 6 April 2023.
Unsuccessful applicants will be notified shortly after.
- Postgraduates–
successful applicants will be contacted on or before 21 May 2023.
Unsuccessful applicants will be notified shortly after.
Further Details
If
you apply for this scholarship, you will automatically be considered for any
other University of Bristol international scholarships you are eligible for.
You do not need to submit two separate applications. The application process is
the same for all University of Bristol international scholarships, including
the terms and conditions.
Applicants
who defer their studies cannot defer their scholarships. If you are awarded a
scholarship, you agree to act as a good ambassador for the University of Bristol
and at times will be expected to participate in events or promotional
activities. Any involvement in these activities will take up no more than five
hours per term.
Unless
otherwise stated, scholarships will be given as a tuition fee
discount. Due to strict UK Visas and Immigration regulations, you must be able
to show you have sufficient funds to cover the remainder of your tuition fees
as well as adequate living expenses. You will need to be able to demonstrate
this in order to obtain a visa to enter the UK.
