University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship (UMGF) Award in Canada

Every year, the University of Manitoba sets aside more than 2 million dollars in University Graduate Fellowships for full-time master’s and PhD students to recognize and support academic excellence. The fellowships are offered to students who have demonstrated superior intellectual ability and excelled academically.

For a student to be considered for the University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship award, the student must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. There are still faculties in the university that demand a GPA higher than 3.0 to qualify for their faculty.

So, the student ought to find out the minimum GPA for their department and faculty to ascertain if they qualify. Scholars who have distinguished themselves academically can be recommended for this fellowship by their respective departments.

The level of funding for this fellowship varies as it is dependent on the assistance one applies for with a maximum of five years of aid. This means that a student who applied for a 2-year Master’s degree funding is only eligible for a 3-year of PhD aid.
